New Emphasis, Energy and Initiative
With the beginning of a new year, the excitement of an election cycle, and the installation of new offi cers, the RWOAC is refocusing its commitment to the unique
perspective that the women of Anderson County have on public policy.
To accomplish this objective, we propose emphasis on SIX initiatives:
1. PERSPECTIVE:
Invite program speakers that are mindful of the unique political perspective women have on public policy.
2. PARTICIPATION:
Take a more active part in state and national women’s activities and opportunities like seminars/conventions,
a new conference call program, and statewide awards banquets
3. OUTREACH:
Reach out to Republican women’s groups in neighboring counties to exchange ideas and work together for "fund-raisers", education and other special projects
4. SCHOLARSHIP:
Establish young Republican programs and scholarship awards to encourage and train young women to lead in public policy matters
5. RECOGNITION:
Start a program to directly honor our military for the personal sacrifices they have made to serve our country
6. OVERSIGHT:
To encourage the women in RWOAC to attend and report on county legislative activities (e.g., County Commissioners Court sessions, City of Frankston/Palestine meetings, School Board meetings, etc.)
